Robin Williams ist tot

Man hat ihm ja vieles abgenommen, den manischen Radiosprecher in Vietnam, den ernsten Therapeuten, den pathetischen Lehrer. Den Einsamen und den Überdrehten. Aber dass er eine Frau sein solle, das dann doch nicht. Es war viel zu offensichtlich, dass unter den Kleidern von Mrs. Doubtfire ein Faxenmacher steckte, der alle zum Narren hielt. Nur die Figuren in der Komödie «Mrs. Doubtfire» (1993) schienen es nicht zu bemerken, und das war der Clou: dass sich da einer ein zweites Gesicht gibt, die Gesten mit zu hoher Spannung überlastet und das Leben bis zum Anschlag aufdreht, sodass alle rundherum wie vom Blitz getroffen werden.

Just a terrific scene. I don't know what else to say. Great acting by Robin Williams. You call actually feel what he is saying.

A little background: Matt Damon sees a painting in Robin Williams office, who plays his psychiatrist, and assumes he knows everything about him by just looking at it. Needless to say, Robin Williams is pissed, and this is their next meeting.

The news of Robin Williams‘ death last night hit everyone hard. In Boston, fans decided to pay tribute to one of Hollywood’s funniest stars by turning the bench from 1997′s Good Will Hunting (which earned Williams his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor) into a makeshift memorial. Since Monday night, fans have been visiting Boston Public Garden to leave flowers and write messages by the bench.

A petition has also been started to create a bronze statue of Williams sitting on the bench.
