Der US-Filmregisseur Oliver Stone ("Platoon") will in einem mehrteiligen Interview den russischen Präsidenten jenseits gängiger Klischees präsentieren. "Ich würde sagen, wenn Sie das westliche Bild von ihm als einem Schurken, einem schlechten Kerl und so weiter überwinden, dann kommen Sie zu einem realistischen Porträt eines Mannes, der ein Land führt und wirklich die Interessen Russlands im Grunde seines Herzen hat", sagte Stone.
Das vierteilige Interview, das Stone bei rund einem Dutzend Begegnungen mit dem Kreml-Chef zwischen Juli 2015 und Februar 2017 führte, wird von Montag bis Donnerstag im US-Kabelsender Showtime gezeigt. In Deutschland ist es anschließend auf Sky zu sehen.
