Für die Green Bay Packers ist der vergangene Sonntag nicht gut gelaufen. Die Niederlage bei den Minnsesota Vikings war schon die zweite in dieser Saison. Als noch schlimmer aber stellte sich die Verletzung des Quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers heraus. Der Superstar brach sich das Schlüsselbein, die Saison ist für ihn gelaufen und der Verein kann sie eigentlich auch vergessen. Ohne einen guten Quarterback ist in der NFL nichts zu holen, entsprechend hysterisch ist die Gemengelage im footballverrückten Green Bay: Was tun? Wer springt für den heiligen Aaron ein? Wo in aller Welt soll plötzlich mitten in der Saison adäquater Ersatz herkommen?
Eigentlich liegt die Antwort auf der Hand. Schließlich ist seit Monaten ein vertragsloser Spieler auf dem Markt, der seine Klasse längst nachgewiesen und zufälligerweise sogar in Milwaukee im US-Bundesstaat Wisconsin geboren wurde. Colin Kaepernick, 29 Jahre alt, der schon zwei NFL-Rekorde aufgestellt hat, wäre die perfekte Besetzung, da sind sich die unzähligen Experten und Analysten ausnahmsweise mal einig. Dumm nur, das Kaepernick in der NFL einfach nicht mehr zu vermitteln ist.

SALUTE is a film by Matt Norman, the nephew of 200m Silver Medalist Peter Norman who was involved in one of the most powerful moments in Olympic history where Tommie Smith and John Carlos gave their Black Power Salute at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Being released through Paramount Pictures and Transmission films in Australia on the 24th of July 2008, and then around the world shortly after Salute promises to be a wake up to what's happening today especially with the 2008 Beijing Olympics just around the corner.
