Emerson, Lake & Palmer perform "Hoedown" live in 1973. This footage is from a 1973 documentary on the band during the making of "Brain Salad Surgery" and the tour that followed. Emerson, Lake & Palmer, also known as ELP, are a sporadically active English progressive rock supergroup. They found success in the 1970s and have sold over forty million albums and headlined large stadium concerts. The band consists of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass guitar, vocals, guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion). They are one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock bands.

Emerson, Lake and Palmer (ELP) - Abaddon's Bolero Live in Zurich 1973 Rare footage synched [3:32]

Hello to all. Here's my latest endeavour into the world of synch. It's Emerson Lake and Palmer (ELP) live in Zurich in 1973 on the Get Me A Ladder Tour, arguably at the peak of their powers as a live band. This is also the only known footage of ELP performing this great song from Trilogy. The 1973 European tour was represented on the Old Grey Whistle Test's Manticore Special documentary, but swiss TV also made a documentary specifically about the Zurich show. This documentary was recently rebroadcast on SRF TV and Tony Ortiz, ELP's official archivist synched the original audio from the show to the Abaddon's Bolero footage. I've changed (corrected) a few things here and there and I also synched the shots from the second camera; they are included in splitscreen mode. This footage is an absolute godsend. Footage from my favorite ELP tour, of my favorite ELP song performed by the strangest instrument configuration ELP ever thought up (Greg and Keith on keyboards). The audio is from the night as can be seen on the announcement at the end. Enjoy! I'll also be making a DVD of this and the full documentar and upload it to YEESHKUL!, a great bootleg site.

The concert set a record for the largest number of paid attendance at such an event. Although more people attended the festival at Woodstock in New York, only a few had purchased tickets. Another record established at California Jam was for the largest (most powerful) concert sound system ever assembled. Tycobrahe Sound Company combined the touring systems of Black Oak Arkansas, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Earth Wind and Fire, and Rare Earth (each manufactured by Tycobrahe)[citation needed], plus 16-ft bass horns from Phoenix Sound and several folded bass horns from Flag Systems. Total power was 54,000 watts RMS, provided by a number of BFA-2000 amplifiers, manufactured by Tycobrahe. Emerson, Lake and Palmer's touring sound system was set up about 1/2 mile from the stage and timed with a tape delay to coincide with the sound from the stage Subscribe my channel http://www.youtube.com/user/RudenkoArt There will be much more great videos! From: Works Volume 2
Works Volume 2 is an album released in 1977 by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Unlike Works Volume 1 (which consisted of three solo sides and one ensemble side), Volume 2 was a single album which seemingly was a compilation of leftover tracks from other album sessions that had not made those albums. While many derided the album for its apparent lack of focus, others felt it showed a different side of the band, with blues, bluegrass and jazz being very prominent as musical genres in this recording.

We welcome back Miss Rachel Flowers for another ELP project. Her work is always superb, but the 'Fugue' segment here is amazing! We also welcome new collaborator Steve Barber on the chimes. We always seek authenticity in these projects and Steve, (as a huge Carl Palmer fan), had the tubular bells and graciously accepted our invitation to play them for us. Len's vocals once again, are right on the mark. Of course, Misi, Balint and George are always perfection in motion. Special thanks again to Csaba for his audio assistance, and to Misi for all of the editing, and without whom none of this would be possible. Enjoy this early ELP classic! BEST WITH HEADPHONES! Lieber Keith,
