Emerson, Lake & Palmer perform "Hoedown" live in 1973. This footage is from a 1973 documentary on the band during the making of "Brain Salad Surgery" and the tour that followed. Emerson, Lake & Palmer, also known as ELP, are a sporadically active English progressive rock supergroup. They found success in the 1970s and have sold over forty million albums and headlined large stadium concerts. The band consists of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass guitar, vocals, guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion). They are one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock bands.

Emerson, Lake and Palmer (ELP) - Abaddon's Bolero Live in Zurich 1973 Rare footage synched [3:32]

Hello to all. Here's my latest endeavour into the world of synch. It's Emerson Lake and Palmer (ELP) live in Zurich in 1973 on the Get Me A Ladder Tour, arguably at the peak of their powers as a live band. This is also the only known footage of ELP performing this great song from Trilogy. The 1973 European tour was represented on the Old Grey Whistle Test's Manticore Special documentary, but swiss TV also made a documentary specifically about the Zurich show. This documentary was recently rebroadcast on SRF TV and Tony Ortiz, ELP's official archivist synched the original audio from the show to the Abaddon's Bolero footage. I've changed (corrected) a few things here and there and I also synched the shots from the second camera; they are included in splitscreen mode. This footage is an absolute godsend. Footage from my favorite ELP tour, of my favorite ELP song performed by the strangest instrument configuration ELP ever thought up (Greg and Keith on keyboards). The audio is from the night as can be seen on the announcement at the end. Enjoy! I'll also be making a DVD of this and the full documentar and upload it to YEESHKUL!, a great bootleg site.

The concert set a record for the largest number of paid attendance at such an event. Although more people attended the festival at Woodstock in New York, only a few had purchased tickets. Another record established at California Jam was for the largest (most powerful) concert sound system ever assembled. Tycobrahe Sound Company combined the touring systems of Black Oak Arkansas, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Earth Wind and Fire, and Rare Earth (each manufactured by Tycobrahe)[citation needed], plus 16-ft bass horns from Phoenix Sound and several folded bass horns from Flag Systems. Total power was 54,000 watts RMS, provided by a number of BFA-2000 amplifiers, manufactured by Tycobrahe. Emerson, Lake and Palmer's touring sound system was set up about 1/2 mile from the stage and timed with a tape delay to coincide with the sound from the stage Subscribe my channel http://www.youtube.com/user/RudenkoArt There will be much more great videos! From: Works Volume 2
Works Volume 2 is an album released in 1977 by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Unlike Works Volume 1 (which consisted of three solo sides and one ensemble side), Volume 2 was a single album which seemingly was a compilation of leftover tracks from other album sessions that had not made those albums. While many derided the album for its apparent lack of focus, others felt it showed a different side of the band, with blues, bluegrass and jazz being very prominent as musical genres in this recording.

We always seek authenticity in these projects and Steve, (as a huge Carl Palmer fan), had the tubular bells and graciously accepted our invitation to play them for us. Len's vocals once again, are right on the mark. Of course, Misi, Balint and George are always perfection in motion. Special thanks again to Csaba for his audio assistance, and to Misi for all of the editing, and without whom none of this would be possible. Enjoy this early ELP classic! BEST WITH HEADPHONES! Postfaktische Rettungsschirme

FILM DESCRIPTION: Director Mike Nichols and writer-actor Buck Henry followed their enormous hit The Graduate (1967) with this timely adaptation of Joseph Heller's satiric antiwar novel. Haunted by the death of a young gunner, all-too-sane Capt. Yossarian (Alan Arkin) wants out of the rest of his WW II bombing missions, but publicity-obsessed commander Colonel Cathcart (Martin Balsam) and his yes man, Colonel Korn (Henry), keep raising the number of missions that Yossarian and his comrades are required to fly. After Doc Daneeka (Jack Gilford) tells Yossarian that he cannot declare him insane if Yossarian knows that it's insane to keep flying, Yossarian tries to play crazy by, among other things, showing up nude in front of despotic General Dreedle (Orson Welles). As all of Yossarian's initially even-keeled friends, such as Nately (Art Garfunkel) and Dobbs (Martin Sheen), genuinely lose their heads, and the troop's supplies are bartered away for profit by the ultra-entrepreneurial Milo Minderbinder (Jon Voight), Yossarian realizes that the whole system has lost it, and he can either play along or jump ship. Though not about Vietnam, Catch-22's ludicrous military machinations directly evoked its contemporary context in the Vietnam era. Cathcart and Dreedle care more about the appearance of power than about victory, and Milo cares for money above all, as the complex narrative structure of Yossarian's flashbacks renders the escalating events appropriately surreal. Confident that the combination of a hot director and a popular, culturally relevant novel would spell blockbuster, Paramount spent a great deal of money on Catch-22, but it wound up getting trumped by another 1970 antiwar farce: Robert Altman's MASH. With audiences opting for Altman's casual Korean War iconoclasm over Nichols' more polished symbolism, the highly anticipated Catch-22 flopped, although the New York Film Critics Circle did acknowledge Arkin and Nichols. Despite this reception, Catch-22's ensemble cast and pungent sensibility effectively underline the insanity of war, Vietnam and otherwise. This song title as well as the lyrics of this song refer to the message that is displayed on a gravestone. In this song, the singer is facing a struggle and fears that his epitaph will be "confusion." Greg Lake, who was the bass player with the group for the In the Court of The Crimson King album (his only album with the band, as he left to form Emerson, Lake & Palmer), explained: "'Epitaph' is basically a song about looking with confusion upon a world gone mad. King Crimson had a strange ability to write about the future in an extremely prophetic way and the messages this song contains are even more relative today than they were when the song was originally written."

Das verdinglichte Bewußtsein im postfaktischen Zeitalter

Besinnliche Reflexionen zum Weihnachtsfest mit Telepolis. Diesmal: Das Kunstwort postfaktisch
