Griechenland: Aberwitzig postfaktisches Theater

Foto-Montage & angebliche Regie per Skype: Schauspielerin behauptet, sie habe Oscar-prämierten Regisseur für sich gewonnen - und kommt damit durch

Eine kuriose Meldung gibt es aus der griechischen Theaterwelt. Ohne Kenntnis und daraus resultierend wurden die Namen eines Oscar-nominierten Regisseurs aus Zypern und eines amerikanischen Star-Regisseurs darin verwickelt. Der gesamte Plot erscheint in Zeiten der weltweiten Vernetzung aberwitzig - ist jedoch real.

Nicht real ist hingegen, was die in Griechenland mehrfach ausgezeichnete Schauspielerin und Politikerin Pemi Zouni bislang standfest behauptete. Die frühere Abgeordnete der PASOK hatte gegenüber der Michalis Cacoyiannis Stiftung behauptet, sie habe den Oscar-prämierten Regisseur Ang Lee als Regisseur für ihr Theaterstück "….und Julietta" gewonnen. Auf den entsprechenden Plakaten liest sich die Beteiligung Ang Lees durch das Layout des Plakats als "Ang Lee …..und Julietta". Die Stiftung des 2011 verstorbenen, mehrfach für den Oscar nominierten zypriotischen Regisseurs Michalis Cacoyiannis nahm das Stück in den Spielplan auf.

The theatre of Ancient Greece flourished between 550 BC and 220 BC. A festival honouring the god Dionysus was held in Athens, out of which three dramatic genres emerged: tragedy, comedy and the satyr play. Western theatre has its roots in the theatre of Ancient Greece and the plays that originated there. This collection features video about Greek theatre and productions of Greek plays staged at the National Theatre. Featured in this film are experts Edith Hall, professor of Classics at Kings College, London, Laura Swift from the Open University, Dr Sean McElvoy from Varndean College, Brighton and actor Michael Grady-Hall from the cast of Antigone. This film includes performance footage from the 2012 National Theatre production of Antigone, directed by Polly Findlay, starring Christopher Eccleston as Creon and Jodie Whittaker in the title role.
